Hospital Newborn Pictures at Hoag Newport Beach are magical moments to look at and smile over. When I started shooting Maternity Sessions and Newborn Sessions I noticed there was a gap in capturing the raw, emotional timeless moments that happen shortly after birth. New parents were not able to capture the moment for a number of reasons- they were too tired, bad lighting in the hospital rooms and of course they (being the subjects) would not be in the frame if they were taking the picture. Yes, grandma, grandpa, sister, brother, aunt, uncle and all your friends are there taking pictures with their cell phones but I feel strongly that the cell phone captures were never really a picture that most would want to hang on your wall or even put in a picture frame. So that’s where it started, I began offering “Fresh 48 Hospital Sessions” in 2014. These sessions allow the parents the time to bond in front of my lens. I am able to capture the pure excitement and love when the new parents to meet their newest bundle of joy for the first time. What makes my Fresh 48 sessions so unique is the fact that I come when it is convenient for the new parents yet I ensure that the session is held shortly after birth (or likely the following day). I like to make sure the mother has had a chance to get a little shuteye, run a comb through her hair and feel fresh and relax once its picture time. Another thing I like about the Fresh 48 is it gives me a chance to get to know the family.
At today’s Fresh 48 I was able to capture these precious moments below. If there is one thing I love about being a Newborn Photographer, its capturing moments like I did today. You can truly see the overwhelming joy and love this new dad has for his newborn baby girl. That bonding moment when mama finally gets to say hi to her newborn and newest love of her life. I do have to say, as great as these moments are to capture, my favorites are the ones of the newborn baby and all the faces they make as they are trying to figure out their new surroundings.
