Stevie Cruz Photography Studio | Orange County Newborn, Child & Family Photography
Welcome to my Studio! Where is my studio located? Orange County, CA My studio space is 980 sqft
In three words I would describe the style and feeling of my studio as- Bright, Welcoming and Simple.
I have been photographing clients for almost 4 years (Celebrating my business birthday in January, there is such a thing right?) March of this year I was fortunate enough to leave my corporate job of 10 years to pursue photography full time. I was scared and excited but have never looked back! I initially shared a studio space with a local colleague. Sharing a space was a perfect starting point for me as I was able to gauge my client load and determine my needs for actual time in studio (shooting and client preview time). This past week, I made the jump to my OWN studio space and I cant be more excited. November 2015 is my month to celebrate.
I specialize in maternity, newborns, and babies up to one year in studio, as well as children and family sessions outdoors. The studio has helped me to offer a consistent and professional experience for my clients. I offer preview sessions at the studio after the portrait part is done. These preview sessions allows me to provide the best experience for my clients; clients can hand select their favorite images from the session, touch and hold my products and discuss options for printing their art. I ensure that clients aren’t left alone to figure out printing and customizing displays for their images.
My advice to others that want to open a studio is to start small and grow as your business grows. I am excited to be mentoring newborn photographers so the added space of this new studio will benefit my plans to grow as I welcome others into my space. (If you want to learn more about Newborn Mentoring, click here) I stress to other that you should not settle for a space that you aren’t in love with. Make sure everything you buy for your space fits well with your style and brand. I love whites, cremes and earth tones so you will see my space keeps this consistent feel. All my newborn props and blankets have soft colors. My client closet is filled with neutral options and lots of textures.
I’m a bright light photographer, so of course the space had to have amazing light and lots of windows. I love that my space feels so much like an extension of my brand and truly of myself. I poured my heart and soul into my studio so it was only natural to keep my bright, simple vision intact for this space.
So are you excited to peak into my own photography studio? Below you will see the transformation of moving in, painting, furniture and more. I hope you enjoy seeing the progress!
You will also see many amazing products and prop favorites such as sitter rompers from Baby in Vogue, Toddler dresses from Tutu du Monde, Headbands from Dream Baby Design, Fabric from Free Bird Shoppe and Bonnets from Buzy Bee Studio.
