Donut Smash is a unique alternative to a cake smash. Baby Dylan’s donut smash was the first of its kind and I have to say I love it! This first birthday picture session turned out so cute. It was all that we envisioned with the simple but sweet look we were going for.
For those of you unfamiliar with my sessions, for baby’s milestone celebrations, moms often opt for cake to celebrate the one year mark. Typically with a cake, the theme and colors of the background are all planned through the studio.
I feel the use of these pretty donuts for this session was such a cute and unique idea, just a small, but different, step away from the usual cake. This donut smash session served as a milestone session for baby Dylan, her first birthday!

One big part of photos like these is the theme, colors and background all tying together. Of course, you can leave the session styling our studio. I often have everything in studio, (garments, props, background, banners, and more) or we can design it together.
These pictures feature a sweet, natural, simple look that I just can’t get enough of. My favorite is the sweet little onesie she has on and those cute little expressions she gives us throughout the session. Sparkle onsie romper is from our client closet.
