Studio Maternity Picture Sessions are becoming my favorite, because of the flexibility and accessibility we have to shoot anytime of day. During studio sessions, there isn’t a time schedule to follow because we aren’t chasing the sun. Outdoor sessions are held the hour before sunset and as a mom we know that time of day can be hectic with little ones in tow or hungry husbands after a long day at work. For these Studio Maternity Picture Sessions we can schedule them earlier or later in the day. With all that being said, I also feel a little more creative freedom in the studio for studio maternity picture sessions.
As a mom of 3, I know the joys, (and lets be real, pains) of pregnancy too. These sessions are so raw and naturally gorgeous because it shows the excitement and hope for which these moms are looking at their babies with, there is no feeling quite like knowing a little you will be entering the world and running around soon! This mom came to Stevie Cruz Photography 2 years ago with her then baby girl and is back now pregnant with her 2nd child. She had a visions of very specific requests for her custom maternity session. She dreamed of classic and elegant, we shot both in studio and on location for her session.
Keep a look out for their newborn session that I will be capturing in studio in just a few weeks. I love celebrating these milestones as families grow in-front of my lens, as this family of 3 will soon be a family of 4.
Studio Maternity Picture Sessions are best photographed between 30-36 weeks when expecting mom is feeling well on her feet yet not too ‘ready to pop’ as we know those swollen feet and cramping can come on later in the pregnancy.
